Our firm was founded with the objective of helping taxpayers navigate the complex environment of the IRS collections process and achieve a real resolution to their tax debt problem.

THE FOUNDER

My name is Christian Aragon.

I received a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration (Major in Accounting and Taxation) from the University of Houston in 2004. I earned my designation as a Certified Public Accountant in 2010. Throughout my career I have gained experience in auditing and taxation of individuals and corporations. I have helped individuals, small businesses and non-profits with tax compliance, research and accounting processes and controls.

In 2014, while working with a corporate business owner whose tax return resulted in a substantial tax liability, I learned something that challenged my perspective on taxes and taxpayers. I realized that there are lots and lots of hardworking people with good intentions and great ideas who suddenly find themselves in trouble with the IRS. And it’s not that these people are fraudsters or professional tax evaders. These can be well-intentioned people with an awesome idea that took off faster than their tax/administrative skills and fell down just as fast, leaving them in a wreckage of tax debt. It can also be a more seasoned business owner who was having a great run for several years, only to later suffer the effects of the devastating events sometimes life throws at us without warning.

Now, government agencies do not know, and may not care, why the taxpayer has not paid. They will assess the tax and go through the collections process, including the taking of the taxpayer’s property in order to satisfy the debt. By nature, to government agencies we are just a number.

Fortunately, taxpayer’s have the right to representation. As a Certified Public Accountant, knowing I can represent taxpayers and help them get that opportunity to decisively resolve their tax debt problem gave me the desire to create Aragon CPA, LLC, and accounting firm that would be focused on tax resolution work and be the voice and presence of the taxpayer before the IRS.
